Human Welfare and Development Trust (HUWAD) is a secular, non-governmental, and non-profit organisation established in the year 2000 and registered as a Public Charitable Trust in India.

About Us

We are dedicated to safeguarding child rights and promoting education empowerment in underserved rural communities. Our mission is to create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment where children can thrive, access quality education, and realise their full potential.

Operating across Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, HUWAD focuses its efforts in semi-arid and economically marginalised regions, ensuring that children in difficult situations—especially those in rural areas—receive the support, protection, and opportunities they deserve. We believe that true community development begins with investing in its youngest members. By working closely with families and local communities, we aim to build a sustainable ecosystem that values education, upholds children's rights, and fosters long-term self-reliance.

DSP Global School – Halagur, Mandya District, Karnataka

In the heart of Halagur, Mandya District, HUWAD Trust proudly operates DSP Global School, a preschool initiative dedicated to nurturing the early years of childhood with care, creativity, and compassion. The school is built on the belief that every child deserves a strong, joyful start to life. At DSP Global School, the focus is on holistic child development — balancing cognitive growth, emotional intelligence, social engagement, and physical wellness. Through play-based learning, activity-driven pedagogy, and a nurturing environment, we prepare children to thrive in their formative years and beyond. The school stands as a beacon of progressive early childhood education in a rural setting, creating strong foundations for lifelong learning and success.

HUWAD Project Centre – Dharapuram, Tirupur District, Tamil Nadu

In Dharapuram, nestled in the semi-arid rural belt of Tirupur District, HUWAD runs its primary Project Centre. This centre serves as the nerve centre of child empowerment initiatives, offering direct support to children in vulnerable situations across nearby communities. From after-school academic support and life skills training to health awareness and protection programmes, the Dharapuram centre anchors a wide range of grassroots-level interventions. These initiatives are designed to uphold child rights, prevent exploitation, and empower young minds to dream big and break the cycle of poverty. Our dedicated team works closely with families, schools, and local leaders to ensure that every child is seen, heard, and supported.
